The Cayolle rides the way memory says bikes used to and measurement says they rarely did: butted steel or titanium, welded and signed, springy where roads are honest and immortal where decades are long.
Titanium forgives roads and decades alike: 3Al/2.5V tubing, welds purged and stacked like coins, finishes brushed or bead-blasted to age without drama. These are frames bought once and argued over in wills.

Rinse gently after wet rides, keep the chain clean and waxed or oiled, and check torque-marked bolts monthly — the witness paint makes it a glance.
